Martin is an art and film school graduate with a degree in film and television production. He worked in the film industry as an assistant director on some of the more famous TV commercials of the 1990's (Guinness, Coke, OXO, Gold Blend, Levi's) before listening to the small voice inside and turning to writing – until then a part time pleasure.
Martin joined Devon advertising agency Bray Leino as a junior copywriter in 2001 to prove that he could sit at a desk for 10 hours a day and write. He can. This is demonstrated by his work for Wrigley’s Extra, Shloer, BP, Castrol, Champion Spark Plugs,The North Devon Marketing Bureau, and many others. Martin has won awards for his campaign work on 4head, as well as for the Hollyoaks idents he created for Wrigley’s Extra.
In 2006 Martin left to set up Copy Monkey. Since then he has written for some of the UK's biggest names, a few global brands and plenty of great companies in all kinds of sectors. Ask him about turbidity. Actually don't. Martin has two children (who occasionally get spins on his amazing revolving chair), a dog, four surfboards and a very old campervan called 'Pootle'. He is very bad at darts.
